Here’s the all new and jazzier version of “Blow Thy Winter Wind”

Although thy breath be rude.
Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly:
Then, heigh-ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.
Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,
That dost not bite so nigh
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not so sharp
As friend remembe r’d not.

…thinking that I’m also going to take another stab at “Blow Thy Winter Wind” (better title than “Blow Blow”)
It looks like the next possible composing chance I’m going to have is tomorrow night.
It’s best, if at all possible, to give youself some time to get away from a song after a first draft for awhile. If you do, you can see if it’s memorable or if it’s what you intended it to be.
Some of the best songs I’ve ever written have grown out of things I just start humming as I walk down the street. The chorus to “Katie’s Song”, just popped into my head one day and it took me awhile to realize that I was singing it…
It’s kind of like solving a puzzle or getting into a really good video game. You end up dreaming about it, and your unconscious mind takes over the solving.
Anyhow, I’m sitting here at my day job thinking that I’m going to try again tomorrow night with “Blow Thy Winter Wind”
